Ambra Sans Font, created by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini in collaboration with Francesco Canovaro as a development and re-invention of Tarif by Andrea Tartarelli, is an esoteric sans typeface family characterized by a vibrant and expressive skeleton and designed with modern, post-digital sensibility in mind – meaning high contrast levels and an elevated x-height.
Ambra’s creators endeavored to find an organic sign of humanist handwritten letters while at the same time exploring how this typeform could serve as a technological tool in an increasingly digital era.
A fragile insect enclosed within an amber humanist design forms the “ghost within the machinery” that drives this font to charm users with its soft and warm flow of text, in contrast to formal and rigid Sans serif fonts.
