Markazi Text Font Family

This typeface was inspired by Tim Holloway’s Markazi Text font, with Gerry Leonidas offering advice and assistance in its creation. This joint project between University of Reading and Google.

Fiona Ross designed moderately contrasted Arabic characters created by Borna IZADPAAH for Borna Ross’ Markazi font; which is modern, highly legible typeface.

Florian Runge created Latin symbols that mirror those used in Arabic art. Their style echoes Arabic practices while still remaining grounded in longstanding Latin traditions, while remaining open, uncluttered, with streamlined posture and an engaging rhythm.
