Arkibal Serif Font

Arkibal Serif Font Inspiration for this project came from old store signs and documents from my grandfather’s gold listfactory established in 1838, which produced hits for many artists of that period as well as several museum collections in Copenhagen.

Priority One for me is creating an amalgamation of traditional letters with modern stylings. Recreating older characters was fun; then I created my new font; the uppercase “G” signified its start point.

G is Danish for “Guldramme”, or Goldframe. Arkibal comes from an old Danish name which resembles that of “Arkibald”, except without “d”.
