Frank Ruhl Libre Font Family

Frank Ruhl Libre is the open-source version of Frank Ruhl, the widely printed Hebrew typeface created in 1908 by Rafael Frank and Auto Ruhl of Leipzig’s C. F. Ruhl Foundry; its final version was then released for public consumption in 1910. Since that time it has become the main choice among Israeli publications such as magazines and newspapers alike.

Frank Ruhl was designed in response to an increasing demand for secular Hebrew. This font can accommodate longform texts with or without vowel markings and is Sephardi in proportions (mem height of approximately four and a half inches). Partly inspired by Venetian fonts used by Daniel Bomberg for printing purposes, Frank Ruhl features longform text styling as well.
