IBM Plex Sans Font Family

IBM Plex Sans BX&D’s Mike Abbink, in collaboration with the independent Dutch type foundry Bold Monday, introduced Plex Typeface in 2017. Plex was made to embody the spirit and heritage that is IBM. It also explores the unique relationship between people and machines–a major theme for IBM this century.

The result: a strict but not exaggerated grotesque typeface in four styles, including Sans, Sans condensed and mono versions, plus a serif typeface, which is well legible in all media from print to web and mobile interfaces. Plex’s three text forms all work well individually or combined with one another.

Use the Sans as a contemporary sidekick, the Serif for magazine or book writing, and the Mono to display code examples. The italics are unexpectedly dashing and you have still more choices to play with your design.
