Pompiere is a low contrast condensed sans that has an unusually high x height, very tall ascenders and descenders, This font is a bit snide but elegant. Inspired by a hand-painted sign outside of the NYC firefighters Squad Co. 18 in the West Village of Manhattan.
To make it work best would have a small x height and be used at medium to large sizes.
